RUMmosa Me Please! "14 Parishes Brunch"
14 Parishes has recently gone viral for their Vaxx That Thang Up sign but they were on my radar waaaay before that. The restaurant is family-run and known for their delicious and authentic Jamaican menu. They also have amazing customer service. There is a location in the Pythian Market food court and a location on Oak Street. I frequent the one on Oak Street a lot.
I was so excited to learn that they added Sunday brunch to the menu so I wanted to see if it was as tasty as the other options. We started the brunch experience with a RUMmosa which has forever changed my life. It’s Rum Punch with Champagne and it was garnished with a Lychee. We definitely had about 5 each.
For appetizers Nadia went with the Crab Cakes which were topped with a sauce and feta cheese. They were perfectly seasoned and really good. I ordered the Jerk Scallops, they were good but they did taste a little overcooked.
For entrees, Nadia went with the Chicken & Waffles and added a side of Grits with cheese. The chicken was nice and crispy and the waffle was really good. Nadia thought it tasted like a doughnut. I went with the Lamb Chops and Grits. The Lamb Chops were everything and the sauce had a kick to it. Three Lamb Chops wasn’t enough and I definitely needed more…haha. I didn’t like the Grits, they were overly creamy and tasted almost like mashed potatoes. Nadia enjoyed the Grits though after they sat for a minute.
The atmosphere was bomb and we were jamming to the music. Our waiter Jyron was a cutie pie and super attentive. He did really well considering he was the only waiter. I will definitely return for dinner and I’m hoping I’ll be able to order a RUMmosa!
