From the Big Easy to the Big Apple
Whew, it’s been a minute since I’ve been here and I have returned with BIG NEWS. Your girl has officially relocated to New York City, Brooklyn to be exact!
I know it came as a shock to many, but this is actually a move I have been wanting to make since college but I felt stuck.. a little scared even. I was scared of the unknown. Will my blogging take off there? Will I get a high paying job? What about my mom? She’s my best friend, I can’t leave her…omg!
However as I got older and life started to happen, family deaths and pandemics I realized life is extremely short and the fear of “what if” was more scarier. Year before last specifically, I became uncomfortable and I know it didn’t seem like it to everyone else but I was truly unhappy. I thought I was doing a great job of hiding it until one day my cousin Riesha asked me are you okay? I said yea, why do you ask. She said you seem unhappy…
And she was spot on! Although I had a good paying full-time job, my boss was great, the job was easy and I knew it like the back of my hand, I was still uneasy. I knew it was time for change! And now as I am living a dream that I once manifested, maybe not totally in the way I did..shoot I’m suppose to be living in a high rise apartment, being a full-time content creator and contributing to a fashion magazine haha.
But in all seriousness, I want you all to do the same. You have been feeling uneasy and it’s time to make a change. Whether it’s taking a faith move like I did, acting out on that business idea that’s been keeping you awake at night or doing more self-care. You deserve to create the life that you want. I saw a video the other day that said the longer you wait for the future you want, the less time you have to spend in it…and whew! If that doesn’t speak to you I don’t know what will!
I can’t wait to share all of the New York fabulousness with you all! Thanks so much for your constant support!
