Staycation Anyone?!
When Hotel Fontenot, one of Kimpton’s newest properties reached out for a collaboration I was extremely excited! I had already visited the Peacock Room for a drink and admired the chicness of the hotel and restaurant. So I was happy I would get the opportunity to check out the rooms! We set a date and unbeknownst to us, Hurricane Ida would make landfall in New Orleans that same weekend. My family and I decided not to evacuate so I was extra thankful when I learned that the hotel was also pet-friendly!
The room I was given was a suite so it was nice and spacious, with a separate room and a living room with a pull out bed and additional television. You can tell that whoever designed the hotel took their time. It reminds me of an art gallery with the amount of art that is around the hotel.
After having a staycation at here I am highly recommending staycations as a self-care must. I had the best time relaxing and enjoying every amenity. Inside Hotel Fontenot you'll find the Peacock Room, their bar and restaurant, and Gospel Coffee, their lounge coffee shop offering coffee and boozy treats. The staff were extremely friendly and hospitable, even during the hurricane they kept their composure. Hotel Fontenot is now taking traveler reservations after Hurricane Ida, and is a must see whether you are visiting New Orleans or need a break from home!
The coffee shop which is called Gospel Coffee serves fresh pastries daily, breakfast tacos, boozy shakes and a number of other breakfast items!
The Peacock Room is for sure a happening spot with live music on certain days, unique cocktails, and a delicious menu. I had the best French 75 I have ever tasted. Every dinner experience should start with appetizers so I started off with the Chee Wee Fries and the Crawtator Crusted Oysters which were topped with bacon and jalapeños. For entrees I ordered some Seafood Pho and Chicken Fricasee. I know it sounds super fancy but everything was delicious!
